HACK: Iran Sec Group Break Israel Weapons DNS

Iran Security Group this week conducted successful DNS hack on Israel weapons industry websites and made websites unavailable to world.


Website israel-weapon.com was offline for 6 hours after DNS hack:


Other website iwi.net and iwi.pionet.com were offline as well in Iran Security Group hack. This website is of Israel Weapons Industries.

Iran CTF News: ASIS Result And Sharif Uni Reg Open

Below is news for 2 of Iran's biggest Capture The Flag contests in 2013:
 
ASIS CTF

2nd Iranian ASIS International Capture The Flag Cyber Security Contest began on 29 August 2013 for 48 hours. 436 teams from all over world took part in contest testing:

  • Web hacking
  • Cryptography protocols and implementations
  • Security of software systems
  • Digital forensics
  • Reverse engineering
  • Steganography
  • Misc


  • Winners have been announced and Germany team StratumAuhuur won place 1. Top Iranian team were DSST.Ir in place 16.

    Sharif University CTF

    The fourth annual Sharif CTF competition will be held on October 2rd, 2013, 14:00 IRST and will run for 24 hours. Similar to the past events, the competition will be held in two rounds and all interested parties are encouraged to participate. Each team could have a maximum of three members. One of the team members should represent the team as the team leader and all communications with respect to the CTF will be through the team leader.
    CTF questions will be from the following areas:
    -trivia
    -web attack
    -steganography
    -cryptography
    -forensics
    -secure coding
    -reverse engineering
    -exploiting
     
    The competition will be held in two stages. In the first stage all teams will compete in a 24 hour online competition in order to qualify for the final round. Team rankings will be available online through the competition and to all players.
    Final rankings will be announced a few days after the online competition and the top 20 teams will be invited to participate in the final round to be held at the Department of Computer Engineering, Sharif University of Technology on Monday November 18th, 2013, 10:00 IRST for 8 hours. Team rankings will be withheld in the last hour of the final competition and winners will be announced in the closing ceremony on Wednesday, November 20th, 2013, 16:00 IRST.
    In addition to receiving certificate of attendance, top three teams will receive:
     
    First Team: 30 Million Rials
    Second Team: 20 Million Rials
    Third Team: 10 Million Rials
