According to Fars News Agency, the head of the Ministry of Communications has declared that Iran's internet bandwidth with the world will increase by 30%. Mohammad Hasan Nami said, "This year will see a 30% increase in bandwidth for the Telecommunication Infrastructure Companys (TIC) international internet which means there will be no more disconnections in Iran's internet". This will increase Iran's international internet bandwidth from 63 Gbps to 83 Gbps. The TIC also explained that there are 8 ports between Iran and the international network so if one stops working the network will continue to function.

Also Iran's internal network bandwidth has increased 80% from 25 Gbps in 2011 - 2012 to 45 Gbps in 2012 - 2013. This makes the total bandwidth 128 Gbps overall. The super fast internal network will be delivered using 50,000 km long super advanced fibre optic network and high technology VPLS and MPLS equipment. The internal network is used by government ministries and provincial organisations.
